World AIDS Day is Dec. 1. This is a time to learn more about HIV and AIDS. It’s important to learn the facts. According to UNAIDS, in 2013, there were 35 million people living with HIV. Since the start of the epidemic, around 78 million people have become infected with HIV and 39 million people have died of AIDS-related illnesses.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourages everyone to get tested. To find an HIV/STI testing site visit gettested.cdc.gov or text your zip code to “KNOWIT” (566948).
