Being admitted into a hospital setting can be overwhelming, whether it be for an outpatient procedure, surgery or an inpatient stay.
We want to ensure this process goes as smoothly as possible.
For successful admission, the two most important things are that you:
- Get pre-registered
- Provide your current insurance information

To prepare for the day of your admission/procedure:
- Please bring your photo ID and insurance card.
- Be prepared for any payments due.
- Follow other specific instructions that your provider or testing site may have provided to you.
- Know where to go when you arrive:
- UofL Hospital's main admissions office is located on the first floor of the hospital at 530 South Jackson Street. Admissions is located behind the main information desk.
- If you are getting admitted to Labor & Delivery, you may go straight to the Center for Women & Infants on the third floor.
- If your procedure is outpatient surgery at the UofL Health – Chestnut Street Outpatient Center, you may report directly to the lower level of 401 East Chestnut Street.
