Our orthopedic program provides a comprehensive approach to patient care including prevention, education, diagnosis and treatment for acute or chronic bone or joint disorders. Procedures for total joint replacement and sports medicine, as well as treatment of the back and spine, foot and ankle, knee and shoulder, are available including specialists in pain management, rehabilitation and arthritis.

UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital received certification as a Shoulder Surgery Center, affirming the hospital’s readiness to provide initial diagnostic services, surgical services and therapies related to comprehensive shoulder care. The certification demonstrates excellence in orthopedic solutions for shoulder pain and complicated problems the upper extremities.

UofL Health – Orthopedics also offers specialized expertise in foot and ankle care at Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. Our fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons can provide the best treatment options for minor conditions, as well as the most complex injuries and deformities. The hospital has received certification in Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery. This certification affirms Mary & Elizabeth Hospital’s ability to provide best-practice, comprehensive care for patients requiring advanced foot and ankle surgery.
