American Medical Response (AMR) and UofL Health are proud to announce a partnership designed to improve the care and medical transportation experience for patients of the Louisville-based health system.

AMR is now operating as the health system’s preferred provider of medical transportation services. The new partnership covers all UofL Health facilities in Louisville, including UofL Hospital; Jewish Hospital; Frazier Rehab Institute; Shelbyville Hospital; Peace Hospital; Mary & Elizabeth Hospital; Medical Center East; Medical Center Northeast and Medical Center Southwest.

“UofL Health is now Kentucky’s largest academic health system. We have a lot of patients with a lot of evolving needs. This partnership with AMR means improved access to care,” said Ken Marshall, chief operating officer, UofL Health. “Whether patients are moving to more acute care, ready for rehab or need transport for specialized treatment, this partnership ensures they will get there in a timely manner.”

The service, which features a fleet of eight co-branded ambulances, brings AMR’s clinical and medical transportation expertise to patient transfers and allows for health system staff and AMR coordinators to efficiently plan patient transports to ensure the appropriate level of care for UofL Health patients.

“We are incredibly proud to be working with one of the top health systems and academic hospitals in the nation to provide high-quality care, and exceptional patient experience to Louisville and the surrounding communities,” said Stephanie Rutter, Regional Director for Global Medical Response.
