Miranda Garvin Named President of UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –Miranda Garvin, DPT, PT, has been appointed president of UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute effective Dec. 7.

Garvin has nearly 15 years of experience in rehabilitation services, with a leadership style grounded in innovation, collaboration and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.

“As the new president for Frazier Rehab Institute, Miranda brings a steadfast commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care,” said Ken Marshall, Chief Operating Officer of UofL Health.
“She has a proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, advance strategic initiatives and drive operational efficiency.”

Garvin has a longstanding tenure with Frazier Rehab Institute. She began her career here as a physical therapist and advanced into the role of clinical supervisor. She later served as the senior director of rehabilitation before assuming the position of interim CEO of Frazier Rehab Institute.

Throughout her career, Garvin has led the full continuum of services at Frazier Rehab Institute, integrating inpatient, outpatient and community-based wellness programs to ensure seamless, high-quality care. Most recently, she spearheaded the creation of the Center for Advanced NeuroRehab and secured $6 million in funding to strengthen the Spinal Cord Injury Program.

In addition to her work at Frazier Rehab Institute, Garvin is a program surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehab Facilities (CARF), providing national consultation on best practices and accreditation standards for rehabilitation facilities.

She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Elon University and a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University.

Frazier Rehab Institute has been the regional leader in rehabilitation services since 1951. In addition to the inpatient facility in downtown Louisville, Frazier Rehab Institute offers 20 outpatient rehab locations across the region.

In 2023, CARF announced that Frazier Rehab Institute had been accredited for a period of three years for its Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs, Comprehensive Spinal Cord Medicine Program, Brain Injury Program and Stroke Rehabilitation Program. The latest accreditation is the 51st consecutive three-year accreditation that the international body has given to Frazier Rehab Institute.
