LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Congratulations to Jade Finley, the 2024 recipient of the UofL Health – Peace Hospital Scholarship for Inclusive Excellence for Mental Health Professionals and the first to receive this scholarship.

Mental health professionals at UofL Health – Peace Hospital were inspired by the social justice movement in 2020 and wanted to create a new opportunity to support inclusivity while addressing the equity gap that serves as an obstacle for students of color interested in pursuing a master’s program in behavioral health that leads to clinical licensure.

Scholarship recipient Jade Finley is currently pursuing her Master of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services with a concentration in Art Therapy at the University of Louisville. Previously, Jade graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Studio Art.

Jade intends to become the first in her family to graduate with a master’s degree, followed by a career in art therapy.

“Thank you again for helping me continue my dream of becoming an art therapist,” Jade shared.

The scholarship committee was impressed with Jade’s commitment to her professional goals, coupled with volunteer work, internship experience and her dedication to making an impact on the profession.
