
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Several UofL Health providers have been recognized by Louisville Business First as 2025 Health Care Heroes.
Louisville Business First’s annual Health Care Heroes program features medical professionals who go above and beyond to care for their patients and the community.
The awards honor “those who have made an impact on health care in our community through their concern for patients, research, innovation, management skills and rising stars in the field,” according to the Louisville Business First.
Honorees from UofL Health include:
- Innovator: Jason Chesney, M.D., director and chief administrative officer, UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center | This award honors someone who breaks ground in the health care field by developing or implementing new technology, treatments or programs with wide applications.
- Manager: Jeffrey Bumpous, M.D., executive vice president for health affairs and dean of the School of Medicine, University of Louisville | This award honors leaders ranging from the head of a small company or organization to an executive in a major health system.
- Rising Star: Bridget Hittepole, M.D., assistant professor, Department of Medicine, University of Louisville School of Medicine | This honor recognizes emerging health care professionals who are making an impact in their company or organization.
The 2025 Health Care Heroes will be profiled in the Feb. 28-March 6 edition of Louisville Business First and will be honored at an in-person event at The Olmsted on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5–7:30 p.m.
