UofL Hospital has been caring for patients since 1823, more than 200 years!
Our mission is to transform the health of the communities we serve through compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care. The emergency department is continuously working on initiatives to improve patient care and staff engagement.
One initiative the emergency department is most proud of is becoming Pediatric Ready. A multi-disciplinary team worked together to ensure the emergency department had the resources, staff education and policies necessary to provide high-quality emergency care for our pediatric population. Furthermore, we have made great strides in improving workplace safety, sepsis bundle compliance and staff satisfaction. We continue to promote and encourage growth and development individually and as a unit.
This award exemplifies the dedication and compassionate care that our staff give daily. All Lantern Award recipients were recognized at the ENA annual conference Sept. 4-7 in Las Vegas.
