LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL Health – UofL Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2025 at 7:52 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2025.

Rosa and Alejandro Santiago, from Louisville, welcomed their baby boy, Alex. He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20 inches long.

“Ringing in 2025 with a baby is such a hopeful way to start the new year,” said Lisa Bunnell, manager of labor and delivery at UofL Hospital’s Center for Women & Infants. “Today, we celebrate every baby born on New Years Day and thank the moms and dads for allowing our team to share in their precious moment.”

UofL Hospital delivered more than 2,000 babies in 2024.
