LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL Health – UofL Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2026 at 2:21 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2026.

Hannah and Matthew Harrison, who are both doctors at UofL Health, welcomed their baby girl, Josephine. She weighed 7 pounds , 5 ounces and was 21 ¼ inches long.

“Starting off the new year with a precious young one is an inspiring way to ring in 2026,” said Lisa Bunnell, manager of labor and delivery at UofL Hospital’s Center for Women & Infants. “We thank all the moms and dads for allowing our team to share their exciting expansion of their family.”

UofL Hospital delivered more than 2,083 babies in 2025.
