Three UofL Health – Wound Care Centers Receive Dual Recognition with Clinical Distinction and Excellence in Patient Satisfaction Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL Health is pleased to announce that its wound care centers at UofL Health – Jewish Hospital, UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and UofL Health – Shelbyville Hospital are dual recipients of RestorixHealth’s Clinical Distinction and Excellence in Patient Satisfaction Awards. Recipients of these awards meet or exceed national quality benchmarks over a set period of time.

RestorixHealth’s Clinical Distinction Award recognizes wound centers that have demonstrated exceptional success by meeting or exceeding clinical benchmarks; while the Excellence in Patient Satisfaction Award recognizes wound centers that have demonstrated superior performance in overall patient satisfaction.

“We are pleased to be recognized for our dedication not only to healing but also to patient satisfaction,” said Tim Ford, D.P.M, medical director of the wound care and hyperbaric medicine centers at Jewish Hospital and Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. “We are proud for each of our three centers to be a recipient of an award that recognizes the work of our staff as both a health care team and patient champions.”

Chris Theuer, M.D., a general surgeon at Shelbyville Hospital, said that the centers are dedicated to optimizing outcomes and preventing lower limb loss in patients with non-healing wounds. “From a surgical standpoint, I appreciate that our centers’ approach to wound care is comprehensive, coordinating traditional and advanced therapies that aid and accelerate the healing process,” Theuer said.

Each center is staffed with clinicians with advanced training in wound care. The centers at Jewish Hospital and Mary & Elizabeth Hospital also offer hyperbaric medicine. Integrating a team of wound care professionals optimizes patient care while offering the most advanced healing options for hard-to-heal wounds.
