Karen Crow, CCC-SLP

Karen Crow, CCC-SLP, native of Nashville, TN, is a Speech Language Pathologist and Voice Specialist who joined Louisville Center for Voice Care in July of 2019. She holds a Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Memphis, where she conducted research in the Voice Emotion and Cognition Laboratory with Dr. Miriam van Mersbergen. She completed a Master's thesis in voice research with a focus on voice and self-identity and its connections with body awareness, which is in press to be published in the Journal of Voice. Karen completed additional voice training at the esteemed Summer Vocology Institute through the National Center of Voice and Speech in Salt Lake City, Utah under the direction of Dr. Ingo Titze, a landmark researcher in the field of Vocology. Prior to her speech language pathology graduate work, she received her Master’s in Vocal Performance at Austin Peay State University where she later returned as adjunct voice faculty. She has performed extensively in both solo and ensemble settings alike, including work with Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Memphis Opera Chorus, American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, APSU Opera Workshop, and many others. Currently, Karen provides therapy services to a variety of patient populations, including a variety of organic and functional voice disorders, professional voice, dysphagia, transgender voice and pediatric voice populations.
