Nanlong "Nathan" Liu, M.D.
UofL Physicians gastroenterologist Nanlong “Nathan” Liu, M.D., is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Liu received undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry from Emory University. His medical training was received at the Medical College of Georgia. This was followed by residency training in internal medicine at the University of Louisville. Dr. Liu then earned fellowships in gastroenterology from the University of Louisville and advanced endoscopy and third space endoscopy from the University of Florida.Education & Training

I really appreciate the fact that I got to see Dr. Liu in consultation for my Zenker's diverticulum instead of a NP. Dr. Liu did a really good job in explaining and showing me what the Zenker's is and how he "fixes" it. The only thing I feel that should have been addressed was "do you have any other medical problems that may have an effect on the outcome of the Zenker's. I also have Barrett's esophagus and Schatzki's ring which has been dilated several times as well as gastric polyps. I brought paper copies of all my medical reports and my swallow tests where the Zenker's was documented AND a CD of the Images of my swallow tests and he just looked at the EGD report that documented that I do have a Zenker's and briefly at the swallow test written report that mentions the size. I thought that he probably would have liked to look at the actual Images to see the Zenker's for himself. Maybe these are not something he should be concerned about. Overall I am really happy with Dr. Liu as I was referred to him from another facility to take out what ended up being a much larger than thought, 50 mm, polyp from my colon and I did really well following this. I am looking forward to getting this Zenker's "fixed" in November.

The physician I saw firstnwas wonderful, he told me all I needed to know. He was one of the best Dr.I have ever had. I do not know his name, wish I did.
