Vrinda Sardana, M.D.
Vrinda Sardana, M.D., completed her medical school at Manipal University in India. She came to the U.S. to pursue further education. She completed her internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowship at University of Florida in Gainesville, where she served as the chief cardiology fellow. Following that, she did an advanced fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging (cardiac CT and MRI) at University of Kentucky. After practicing cardiology for a couple years in Maine, she returned to Kentucky and joined UofL Physicians as a cardiologist in 2016. Her chief interests include management of resistant hypertension, arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease and women’s heart disease. She is married to Prafull Raheja, M.D., also a cardiologist with UofL Physicians – Cardiology, and they have two young children.Education & Training

Dr. Sardana is the only one who has treated me respectfully, validated my concerns, given my symptoms and feelings thorough consideration, developed a comprehensive plan for diagnosis and treatment, and made me feel heard. The prescription renewal- refill procedure is not as smooth as it should be. Dr. Sardana should take care of the refill, instead of the need to call her assistant after the appointment.

I had a couple of questions and was waiting for Dr. Sardana to finish her work. She left the room as if to look something up. I waited but the nurse (who was very nice) told me that was it. I'm used to the doctor ending the visit with something like "Is there anything else?" or "Do you have any questions?" It was as if she was satisfied and that was all that mattered.

She listened to my heart and we talked about my symptoms. Then she gave me a heart monitor because my heart was beating slow. I had to wear it all weekend and return it. I will get the results back from her once she receives the text and reads it.

Appointment time was 11AM, didn't see the doctor til 12 noon, although she did apologize for delay. 1 hour is a bit excessive, but this was the first time they've run that far behind. Dr. Sardana is compassionate, empathetic, and collaborative with me as a patient. I appreciate that. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a cardiologist.

Dr. V. Sardana, Cardiologist, first visit to her, she listened to my concerns & helped make a plan for my care. We live out of town. She'll get past records from Dr in 2020, coordinate w/surgical team for new testing, then discuss w/surgical team, best heart valve repair options in the least amt of visits possible. Experienced, very helpful, thorough, professional staff, took time to examine me & get medical history. I'm very pleased w/her, staff & highly recommend this Dr.
