Innovators in Spine Care

Brain & Spine Institute, in partnership with UofL Health – Medical Center East, is the first in Kentucky to offer a minimally invasive outpatient procedure, called Elliquence, for disc herniation in the neck or back. This revolutionary new procedure brings relief to patients who have experienced longstanding back pain.

Approximately 80 percent of individuals will experience some sort of disc herniation in their life. These patients are generally treated with rest, medications, injections and physical therapy – often without relief. Those who did progress to major spine surgery were still recovering months later.

Now, the Elliquence procedure provides an option for individuals who have not found relief or healing from conventional spine surgery. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, meaning you can co go home the same day. Many patients report feeling relief right away and don’t require pain medication after the procedure.
