Project BellSymbols of hope, life and new beginnings are ringing throughout UofL Health – Jewish Hospital and Trager Transplant Center thanks to Project Bell! Isabella and Alexa, sisters and co-presidents of Project Bell, founded this non-profit in 2016 following their mother’s radiation treatment. The impact the bell ringing ceremony had on them and their mother after her treatment empowered these sisters to found Project Bell to create New Beginning Bells.

Project Bell donated three bells to our center to honor transplant recipients, living donors and for yearly transplant anniversaries. These bells exemplify new life, empowerment and spread awareness of organ donation.

Becoming an organ donor is one of the most selfless acts a person can make. It’s a chance to give someone the most precious gift there is. More time, more memories, more life. Whether it’s a friend, a family member or a stranger, your decision can be the reason someone gets to hope again.

Trager Transplant Center has a Living Kidney Donor Transplant Program and a team committed to making the donation process as easy and safe as possible. Learn more about the program.

In addition to transplantation, Trager Transplant Center is actively involved with efforts to increase awareness of the need for organ donation. Unfortunately, due to the lack of donated organs, many people never receive lifesaving transplants.

Although you may never need a transplant, you can pass on the gift of life by registering to become an organ donor today.

Silver MedalThe Transplant Games of America is a nationwide event held every two years that highlights the life-changing impact of organ, eye and tissue donation. It brings together transplant recipients, living donors, donor families and supporters from across the country to honor those who gave the gift of life and to promote the importance of donation. Through sports competitions, ceremonies and community activities, the event celebrates healthy living after transplant and shows the strength and spirit of the transplant community.
