According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with the devastating disease in their lifetime. In honor of these women, and all of the patients who have fought courageously in the past, UofL Health will light up several of its facilities pink for the month of October.
“Nearly everyone has been touched by breast cancer, either because they have been diagnosed themselves, or because a friend or loved one has battled the disease,” said Dr. Jason Chesney, director, UofL Health – James Graham Brown Cancer Center. “We want these patients to know that they are seen and supported, and that our healthcare practitioners will do everything they can to aid in their recovery.”
The following facilities are now displaying pink lights:
- UofL Health – James Graham Brown Cancer Center
- Mary & Elizabeth Hospital
- Peace Hospital
- Rudd Heart and Lung Center
- Shelbyville Hospital
