UofL Physicians mourns the passing of Jagdish Kothari, M.D., who was a beloved primary care physician at UofL Physicians – Primary Care Associates in Fairdale. Dr. Kothari passed away on Jan. 24, 2021 from heart failure.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1949 to the late Natverlal and Savitaben Kothari. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jyotsna Kothari. He is survived by his son, Sachin, and daughter-in-law, Ami. In addition, he was the loving grandfather of Carina and Ryaan.

Dr. Kothari was an internal medicine physician who had been practicing medicine for 50 years. He graduated from B.J. Medical College, a premier medical college located in Pune, Maharashtra, India in 1971. He completed his residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community. He dedicated his life to his loving family, friends, and medicine and will truly be missed.

Along with his family, our sincerest thoughts and prayers are with Mini Aggarwal, M.D., Renu Mehta, M.D., and the staff at our Fairdale clinic as they mourn the loss of their colleague and friend.
