LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL Health – Jewish Hospital is ranked as “High Performing” by U.S. News & World Report in four specialty conditions and procedures:
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Heart Bypass Surgery
- Heart Failure
- Pacemaker Implantation
This recognition is given to programs that demonstrate exceptional performance in the respective areas. Only a small percentage of hospitals achieve the “High Performing” ranking for each area.
“We are honored to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a ‘High Performing’ hospital in COPD, heart bypass surgery, heart failure and pacemaker implantation,” John Walsh, chief executive officer of Jewish Hospital and UofL Health – Heart Hospital, said. “This achievement reflects the unwavering dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff who work every day to deliver exceptional, compassionate care. These distinctions affirm our ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and improving the lives of the patients and families we serve.”
Three of the four “high performing” rankings are part of the cardiovascular service line, taking place in UofL Health – Heart Hospital, a part of Jewish Hospital.
“These recognitions are a direct reflection of the academic strength and clinical expertise our physicians bring to the Heart Hospital. Many of our doctors are not only leading care at the bedside, but also advancing the field through research, education and innovation,” said Debra Riley, vice president of the cardiovascular service line. “That academic difference elevates the level of care we provide every day—and ensures our patients have access to the latest, evidence-based treatments with some of the brightest minds in cardiovascular medicine.”
In addition to these U.S. News & World Report “High Performing” awards for Jewish Hospital, UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute was recently ranked among the 2025-2026 Best Rehab Hospitals in the U.S., ranking No. 40.
