Redi Rahmani, M.D.

Redi Rahmani, M.D., is a dual trained cerebrovascular neurosurgeon. He completed his endovascular neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in open cerebrovascular and skull base surgery under Dr. Michael Lawton at the Barrow Neurological Institute. He has strong clinical and research interests in cerebrovascular disease. He completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the BNI under Dr. Tomoki Hashimoto with research support from the AANS/CNS and the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and worked on multiple projects focused on the pathophysiology of aneurysm rupture. He graduated residency from the University of Rochester where he spearheaded the construction of a state-of-the-art neurosurgical training lab, initiated a multi-institutional clinical trial for delayed cerebral ischemia in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as authoring a textbook. His research interests have also led to engineering collaboration for the development of a transcranial ultrasound and multiple patents. Dr. Rahmani attended medical school at Dartmouth College. Prior to medical school he attended Cornell University and graduated cum laude in 2012 with a degree in neurobiology. He grew up in New York City after emigrating from Albania. He enjoys spending time with family, trekking and international travel.
