After pursuing medical school training at Grant Medical College, among the premier medical institutes in India, Dr. Sharma arrived as a visiting student at Harvard Medical School. He finished his medical residency from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and post doctoral and cardiovascular imaging fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University followed by general cardiology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston. His passion for advanced cardiovascular therapies led to further fellowship training at Harvard Medical School in Interventional Cardiology with focus towards structural heart diseases, valvular heart disorders and transcatheter treatments and complex coronary interventions.
Dr. Sharma is recognized as an early career leader in the field of Interventional cardiology and has numerous scientific publications and presentations at national and international scientific conferences. He has participated and been a recipient of the Young Investigator Award at Scientific Society meetings. He has been an invited faculty at scientific conferences and authored innovative procedural techniques and procedures. In addition, he is involved in device innovation and development, as well as participation in numerous research and clinical trials. He travels regularly across the United States to lecture and teach heart valve procedures to other Interventional cardiologists.
In his free time, Dr. Sharma enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with his family.
