Learning Objectives:
- Discuss empiric microbial targets for intraabdominal infection (IAI)
- Evaluate options for oral stepdown therapies in IAI
- Differentiate antimicrobial duration of therapy for IAI by type and surgical management
About Speaker Carlee Shifko, PharmD:
Carlee Shifko earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University in 2021. She subsequently completed PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She joined UofL Health in July 2023 as an infectious diseases clinical pharmacy specialist at UofL Health – Jewish Hospital. She looks forward to sharing her passion for optimizing antimicrobial utilization in the Antimicrobial Stewardship Lecture Series!
