Join us for this Stroke Symposium by the Department of Neurosurgery on September 28, 2023.
Annually, stroke affects more than 800,000 people in the United States and is the leading cause of disability. Rapid identification and treatment of stroke, both hemorrhagic and ischemic, can not only be lifesaving but also minimize disability. Expanded criteria for tPA and mechanical thrombectomy increase the number of patients who are candidates for treatment. Technological advances have made the treatment of hemorrhagic stroke safer and more effective. This seminar will discuss advances in the care of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke so that providers can readily identify and triage persons who will benefit from aggressive stroke care.
