Mary & Elizabeth Hospital Receives Advanced Foot and Ankle Surgery Certification from DNV

UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital has received Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery Certification from DNV. The Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery Certification is designed to recognize excellence in foot & ankle surgeries with the scope of arthroplasty and arthrodesis inclusive of inpatient, outpatient and same-day elective surgical procedures.

“Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery Certification assures our community that we have the resources and commitment to provide the best possible care for our foot and ankle patients,” says Melisa Adkins, CEO of Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. “The community can be confident that we have the right equipment, personnel and training to maintain our foot and ankle program at peak performance. Achieving this certification validates all the effort we have put into orthopedic services and to ensure the health and safety of our patients.”

The DNV Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery Certification requirements are informed by the ERAS® Society Orthopaedic guidelines, the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and relevant requirements of the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals. Achieving certification shows a commitment to excellence, and that the hospital is performing at the highest level in this surgical area.  Last year, Mary & Elizabeth Hospital received DNV certification in the area of Shoulder Surgery.
