UofL Health Expands Urgent Care Plus to South Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL Health is expanding its primary care, orthopedics and sports medicine services at its UofL Health – Medical Center Southend location located at 5129 Dixie Highway. Included is the opening of a new Urgent Care Plus, marking the health system’s seventh urgent care location in the state and its first in the Shively, Pleasure Ridge Park and Valley Station areas.

Urgent Care Plus locations offer care for minor injuries, illnesses, routine exams and occupational health services. Care is provided during the convenient hours from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday.

The new Urgent Care Plus location flanks two long-established primary care practices at Medical Center Southend. Together, they include 12 primary care providers. Other services at the facility now include:

  • UofL Physicians – Orthopedics
  • UofL Health – Sports Medicine Urgent Care
  • UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute
  • UofL Health – Medical Imaging

Wade Mitzel, CEO of UofL Health – UofL Physicians, said that expanding services to South Louisville is part of the system’s commitment to providing outstanding care to patients throughout the community.
