Louisville, KY – The addition of the UofL Health – Center for Women’s Health brings a multitude of specialties and services under one roof to ensure patients are taken care of in the most efficient way with optimal quality of care. This is just another example of our commitment to serve women and gender-neutral patients in South Louisville and across Kentuckiana.
“Women make most of the health care decisions for families, now they can choose an option closer to home, ,” said Melisa Adkins, Chief Executive Officer at UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. “The opening of this center with nine exam rooms will have an immediate positive impact on the health care of our South Louisville community.”
Located on the UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital campus, the Center for Women’s Health offers a team of five compassionate providers with expertise in a variety of women’s health specialties including:
- Urogynecology
- Gynecologic Oncology
- Midwives
- General Gynecology
- Gender-neutral services
“Our team has expanded beyond downtown to provide better access to women’s health services to make it easier for South Louisville residents to get specialized women’s care. Our vast variety of specialties and the easy access, standalone building will ensure our patient-centered approach is convenient, as well,” said Sean Francis, M.D., UofL Physician and chair of OB/GYN and Women’s Health for the UofL School of Medicine. “Patients can expect to have access to compassionate expertise among our team of five, and the latest technology.”
The Center for Women’s Health features large exam rooms, each with special attention to bed placement for privacy, and buttons to alert staff when patients are dressed and ready to see the provider. There is also an additional waiting room that includes a small play area for young children.
