UofL Health recognizes that many in our community require emergency or other medically necessary health care services, but are uninsured, underinsured, ineligible for government health programs or otherwise without adequate financial resources to pay for their health care services. UofL Health and its hospitals are committed, to the extent of our financial ability, to provide uncompensated medical care to those who demonstrate an inability to pay.
Emergency or other medically necessary care provided by any of the UofL Health Hospitals may be free for our patients who meet the criteria outlined in our Financial Assistance Policy. If (1) your yearly family income is less than or equal to 300% of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines; (2) you are uninsured or underinsured; and (3) you are ineligible for government health programs (including Medicaid), you may not have to pay your bill. Federal Poverty Guidelines can be found at https://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty-guidelines. Patients who are untruthful, noncompliant or uncooperative may be denied financial assistance.
Our Financial Assistance Policy applies to uninsured/underinsured patients who come to our facilities for treatment. This policy provides financial relief to patients who qualify based on a comparison of their financial resources and/or income to Federal Poverty Guidelines. The program is designed specifically for non-elective care patients whose household financial resources and/or income are at or below 300 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
To qualify for any assistance, uninsured/underinsured patients will be asked to complete a Financial Assistance Application which includes information relating to household income.
We are committed to working with our patients to establish an appropriate payment plan based on the amount due and the patient’s financial status.
If you have questions regarding our policy or applications, please contact 502-681-1440.

Financial Assistance Policies & Applications
In compliance with federal law, UofL Health is providing the following price lists containing our charges.
UofL Health has made public the charges for all elements of patient care. These rates do not include professional/physician fees such as diagnostic imaging or lab work. The hospital’s charges are the same for all patients, but a patient’s responsibility may vary, depending on payment rates negotiated with individual health insurers. If you have questions about your financial responsibility, please contact your insurer. Uninsured or underinsured patients should contact our financial counselors at 502-681-1440 to determine if they qualify for discounts. Emergency services will never be delayed or withheld on the basis of a patient’s ability to pay. Click on the links below to view the price list for each facility.
