Elkin Galvis, M.D., was born in Bogota, Colombia and graduated from the National University School of Medicine in 1999. He joined the Colombian Air Force as a medical commissioner officer for 3 years, did an Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery residency and graduated from Javeriana University. He completed an one-year fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, KY and continued as a Senior Fellow until June 2013.
