Ibrahim Fahsah, M.D.
Ibrahim Fahsah, MD, completed his medical school at Damascus University, a premier medical education institute in the country. Since his medical school years, saddened and motivated by sudden loss of his brother at the age of 29 years from cardiac arrest and massive heart attack, he has been passionate about providing high-quality care to the patients with heart disease as it is very personal to him.
Dr. Fahsah finished his residency at University of Louisville, along with fellowships in cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He has been in practice in the greater Louisville area and southern Indiana for more than 15 years.
Dr. Fahsah’ s commitment to provide state-of-the-art and advanced cardiovascular care led him to achieve several accolades including being among the first in the region to perform “trans-radial” heart catheterization. He is also credited to initiate structural heart program in one of the health institutions in the region. He is a gratis faculty at the University of Louisville has been well recognized for fellow as well as peer-to-peer education being involved in teaching complex cases and heart interventions. He is among the few physicians in the region to have performed most chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions. His training background in both cardiology and pulmonary & critical care provides him a unique perspective of being a “cardio-pulmonologist” with understanding of complex disease processes.
He has received teaching awards as a testimony to his commitment towards educating medical students and fellows to nurture best practices of medicine in future physicians.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, fishing and swimming.
