During my medical journey I have realized that continuity of care and increasing access to medicine are important to me. Family Medicine creates the environment to do both.

Nobody cared at all about the pain I have been in. I was told to take ibuprofen. I feel like I am left to suffer because some people abuse their medication.

Dr Bowe is an exceptional listener . My first visit and I will refer my Family and friends. She was concerned about my health issues and cares about you. She allowed me to speak honestly and openly about my health concerns. I believe she may be the Best Doctor for the area and will receive more clients

I got better care with you guys than I did with Jen Care. Your doctors in my opinion were outstanding in treating my illness of blood clots.

On March 10th, myself and my spouse were given an appointment with Dr. Jamaal Richie to establish new patient care with a new general practitioner since Dr. Newsome departed In January . During this visit I expressed concern about having two doctors in the same office previously who left and went elsewhere and this would be the third doctor that I would be establishing as my general practitioner. I asked Dr. Richie if he would be moving on later and he more than assured me that he was not moving elsewhere. He had every intention of being in that office and being my general practitioner for a long time. During that visit he brought up the fact that I had not had a pap test in several years. And I told him that I consider Pap test and mammograms a terrible indignity upon women in general. And he assured me that he could perform that test with confidence and make me feel comfortable and not traumatic on me as I feel that these tests are. In fact, Dr. Richey said he performed his sister's Pap test and that he had no problem doing them and it was just no problem at all. So that gave me confidence that he's willing to be a great practitioner who was willing and able to do any procedure that a general practitioner would do. Because I expressed those feelings with my last general practitioner, Dr. Jonathan Newsom, whom I had a quote" physical "with in December, told me that he did not like doing pap tests and I told him I didn't like getting them and he says well good, We won't do one. So that made me really uncomfortable and so I just decided I would not have one anymore until I met Dr. Richey and he made me feel very comfortable and he was confident. So I made an appointment on March the 10th for a pap test with Dr. Richey as we discussed for May the 22nd which was 3 days ago. When I arrived at the office I was informed Dr. Richey was no longer there and would not be coming back there. This really upset me and made me go into a panic attack-Meltdown and I'm still not over it. I had messaged Dr. Richie through "My Chart" several times since March regarding refills on some medication for me and my spouse with no response. And then I get to the office and find out he's gone and had been for some time. I just couldn't believe it. I feel like I've been ghosted by somebody who made a big deal out of convincing me he would be there for a long time. I'm really disappointed in Dr. Richie. I have bipolar disorder and big changes like this are extremely stressing on me. In January I lost my general practitioner Dr. Newsom and my psychiatrist of 12 years, Dr. Muhammad Kodier. I'm still upset with my psychiatrist situation because they put me with some other person in that office and I just don't feel comfortable with this person but I have to take quite a bit of medication so I have to go see this person unless I can find another person. So when Dr. Richey met with us during our established patient care meeting, these concerns were made known to him by me and how much difficulty I was having with all my doctors leaving and he made me feel very comfortable and confidence that he would be there and had no plans of leaving. The previous doctors I mentioned that I lost all gave me over a month's notice they were leaving which is totally fine. Everyone should work where they want. No problem. What I have a problem with is somebody sitting in front of me even patting me on the shoulder and telling me everything will be okay. I'll be here for you and I have no plans of leaving. And like I said before I was ghosted by Dr. Richey. I sent him messages and I also emailed him with these concerns. So I don't know what I'm going to do now about my health care. I am a member of the U of L family. I work at the med school and have great confidence in our doctors. I'm just astonished that Dr. Richey did what he did.
