Yuvraj Chowdhury, M.D.

Yuvraj Chowdhury, M.D. did his internal medicine residency training in New Jersey where he was elected Chief resident. He went on to complete his cardiology fellowship from SUNY Downstate in New York City where he served as Chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Chowdhury pursued his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts. He specializes in treating patients with coronary artery disease, including placing stents to open blockages in the blood vessels that supply the heart. He also treats patients with pulmonary embolism by removing clot from the lungs and uses percutaneous techniques to close PFOs or “holes in the heart.” Given his robust clinical experience, Dr. Chowdhury’s expertise lies in utilizing state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge techniques to provide minimally invasive options in treating patients who are at high risk for open-heart surgery and those seeking second opinions given their complicated anatomy. With over 70 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and more than 250 citations, Dr. Chowdhury has a keen interest in ischemic heart disease and serves on committees for the Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions, and the American College of Cardiology.
