UofL Physicians in partnership with UofL Health – Shelbyville Hospital are bringing three new physician specialists and two new specialty services to the Shelbyville community. UofL Hospital – Pain Management Center is now offering interventional pain procedures in Shelbyville and UofL Physicians – Ear, Nose & Throat is now seeing patients at a new EN&T clinic located on at 720 Hospital Drive and offering procedures at Shelbyville Hospital.

“Through the hospital’s new affiliation with UofL Health and academic medical providers, our goal is to continue bringing needed specialist care to the community,” said Aaron Garofola, CEO, UofL Health – Shelbyville Hospital. “We couldn’t be more excited that these physicians are joining our team and making important specialty services more convenient for our citizens.”

Harini Chenna, M.D., interventional pain physician and anesthesiologist, is now accepting new patients for telehealth assessments. She will provide interventional pain procedures at the Shelbyville Hospital. Dr. Chenna’s expertise includes epidurals for radicular low back and neck pain, joint and nerve injections, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, Botox for migraines, and trigger point injections for myofascial pain, as well as other modalities.

“I am passionate about structuring my practice around the pillars of wellness: nutrition, fitness, mindfulness and ayurvedic medicine,” said Dr. Chenna. “I believe this foundation is integral when building on it with interventional procedures, neuromodulation and medication management. As a competitive gymnast in the past, I approach the treatment of pain in a very tailored manner and see every patient treatment plan in an integrative light. In my mind, developing a strong foundation of wellness is the first step towards a lifetime of overcoming pain and not letting it dominate one’s life.”

Jeffrey Bumpous, M.D., and Kevin Potts, M.D., otolaryngologists with UofL Physicians – Ear, Nose & Throat, are now seeing patients in a new Shelbyville office and will provide general EN&T procedures at the local hospital. Dr. Bumpous specializes in head and neck cancers, thyroid conditions and robotic head and neck surgeries. Dr. Pott’s brings expertise in the management of chronic sinus disease, nasal obstruction and snoring, sleep apnea, and management of allergic disorders. Their group offers a full spectrum of care to both adults and children.

Dr. Potts shared, “Dr. Bumpous and I are excited to serve the people of Shelby County and the surrounding area. Our focus is to offer patient-centered care, limiting the disruption to quality of life, and offering the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques when needed.”
