UofL Health – Shelbyville Hospital earned a place on the 17th Annual Best Places to Work in Kentucky list, which identifies and recognizes outstanding workplace environments. Shelbyville Hospital was recognized in the medium company category, with 150-499 employees, and was one of only three hospitals in the state to make this year’s list. The Shelbyville Hospital also received the Best Places to Work designation in 2019.

“To be recognized among Kentucky’s Best Places to Work demonstrates our team’s commitment to supporting each other, and taking excellent care of our patients,” said Aaron Garofola, CEO of UofL Health – Shelbyville Hospital.  “Having earned this prestigious distinction during a global pandemic makes it even more impactful.  Our team, like everyone else, has personally struggled through much adversity during this past year; despite those challenges, it has been wonderful to see such a spirit of team work and absolute determination to work through all of those challenges and still deliver the safe, high quality care that our community deserves from us during this difficult time.  It is that spirit that makes this hospital a great place to work, and it is an honor to be recognized for their combined efforts.”

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management recently released the Kentucky list, presented by ClearPath Mutual Insurance Company. The selection process, managed by Best Companies Group, is based on an assessment of the company’s employee policies and procedures and the results of an internal employee survey.

The Best Places to Work in Kentucky competition is a multi-year initiative designed to motivate companies in the Commonwealth to focus, measure and move their workplace environments toward excellence. Studies show a strong correlation between success and creating a good place to work.

The winner rankings will be announced at an awards dinner on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Central Bank Center (formerly Lexington Convention Center).
