LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL Health – Urgent Care Plus has expanded its services in the Buechel neighborhood, at 4423 Bardstown Road. Staffed with both primary and urgent care providers, area residents now have greater access to preventative and urgent care seven days a week. “Plus” leverages the unique academic and community-based health services to expanded care, including occupational medicine, Department of Transportation physicals and drug testing. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday to celebrate the additional services now being offered at this site.
“One of our goals has been to increase convenient access to healthcare across the community,” said Christina John, director of clinical operations at UofL Physicians. “This site will better meet the needs of patients by offering quality primary and urgent care in one location.”
Urgent Care Plus offers treatment for minor injuries and illnesses, routine exams, and preventative care as well as occupational health services.
Rejith Paily, M.D., FACP, UofL Physicians – Primary Care Associates is bringing his years of experience to the primary care side of the Urgent Care Plus location. “I’ve been practicing in the community for many years. My idea is to provide care not in a reactive way, but in a proactive way.” said Dr. Paily. “I try to empower patients with the tools they need so they can be active partners in their health care management.”
UofL Physicians family medicine physician, Lydia Samples, M.D., is bringing her years of expertise in primary care to provide urgent care at the Buechel location. “I am excited to step into this new role because it will allow me to teach urgent care patients about the importance of preventative care services,” said Dr. Samples. “I want to help patients live life to the fullest so they can enjoy their favorite past times and spend quality time with the ones they love.”
There are five other providers working at the Urgent Care Plus in Buechel, including UofL Physicians family medicine nurse practitioner, Lindsey Winfield, APRN. Winfield has been caring for patients at the facility for the past two years.
“I like to be really hands-on with my patients. I always tell them to call me when they need anything,” said Winfield. “I like to spend a lot of time with my patients and make sure that we’re all on the same page with their health care goals and my goals for them.”
This year, UofL Health – Urgent Care Plus has also expanded its services in west Louisville’s Parkland neighborhood, Shepherdsville, Hurstbourne Corners, and at Medical Center Northeast.
