Jamie Messer, M.D.
Jamie C. Messer, M.D., joined the Department of Urology at the University of Louisville in September, 2012. Dr. Messer is certified by the American Board of Urology and specializes in Urologic Oncology. Dr. Messer is a native Kentuckian and earned his medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his urology residency at Penn State University and his urologic oncology fellowship at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Messer's interests are urothelial cancer, both upper and lower tract, as well as renal cell carcinoma. Dr. Messer also serves as site director for the urology residency program and University of Louisville Hospital. At the University of Louisville, he is an associate professor at the School of Medicine in the Department of Urology.Education & Training

The doctor had emergency surgery scheduled that day and I found out my appointment had been canceled. The clerk said they tried numerous times to get in touch. I had 1 phone call I missed that was placed less than 2 hours before my scheduled appointment frim a company name I didn't recognize. I also had a my chart sent also less than 2 hours before my appointment but it was titled as test results so I didn't open it as I already knew my test results. My wife jad also been called but it was also less than 2 hours before my appointment from a name she didn't recognize. We were busy getting ready for the appointment. The desk clerk was rude as well.

This is the first time I've ever had surgery. I was surprised at the number of people it takes to accomplish it. All of whom were as professional as one might expect. Everyone was upbeat and reassuring. I guess it was obvious that I was worried. All aspects of the process went very well. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

On the day of service I received a Cystoscopy.There was a longer than expected wait time for the Doctor to perform the procedure.It seemed that the lidocaine had worn off.It was extremely painfull.I have had this procedure done several times and this was worst.

I actually saw one of the chief residents who was as friendly and supportive as Dr. Messer has been since my prostate surgery over 4 years ago. I was very happy with his care and thoroughness. He will be an exceptional practitioner since is already practicing at this level. As a recently retired obstetrician he showed me his interest and respect that is exceptional. I wish we could clone the physicians in practice from his template.

Overall hp d/c was too early. More things could have been done while there. Dr's were very confusing one would say one thing and the other the opposite. Confused entire family. It wasl ike one didn't really know what's going on. No precise decisions were made considering the pt.did not walk. After care plans poor.
