Umair Gauhar, M.D.
Umair Gauhar, M.D., is a physician specializing in pulmonology, lung care, oncology, cancer care and lung cancer practicing for UofL Physicians. Dr. Gauhar has comprehensive expertise in areas such as endobronchial valve placement, interventional pulmonology, pleural diseases and thoracic oncology. Dr. Gauhar earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Pakistan in 1999, before completing his residency in internal medicine at University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2006, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary disease in 2009. Further advancing his skills, he pursued fellowship training in interventional pulmonology at Ohio State University/Wexner Medical Center in 2012. He is an associate professor and director of the Interventional Pulmonary Program at University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
