Discounted Rate for LASIK Eye Procedures at UofL Health's Laser Eye Center in Louisville
The Laser Eye Center at UofL Health – Medical Center East is the site for residents in training from the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Residents from University of Kentucky’s medical school are also trained here.
The training center at Medical Center East is headed by UofL Physicians ophthalmologist, Richard Eiferman, M.D., clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Louisville, and Mark Cassol, M.D., an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Both Dr. Eiferman and Dr. Cassol are among the most experienced and qualified providers of refractive surgeries such as LASIK and PRK in the region with Dr. Eiferman being one of the nation’s first conductors of clinical trials under FDA protocols for the procedures in the late 1980s.
At the training center, patients can have LASIK procedures performed at a discounted rate by residents in training with each surgery
supervised by Drs. Eiferman or Cassol.
