Emergency Hand Care

We provide immediate emergency treatment 24 hours a day, seven days a week with our specialized Hand Care Emergency Services located at the downtown UofL Health – Jewish Hospital Emergency Department.

Hand trauma teams headed by UofL Health – Kleinert Kutz board-certified staff physicians are on call and ready to handle upper extremity trauma from the hand to the arm to the shoulder. The team approach allows the care of multiple patients with severe trauma as well as minor injuries. Each team includes fellows in hand surgery who are fully trained plastic, orthopedic or general surgeons.

Hand Therapy

When an employee is injured, therapists assess the functional requirements of the employee's work and activities to develop a custom therapy program. A therapist is available to visit the worksite to assist with appropriate job placement and help return the employee to work as quickly as possible.
