LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In an effort to enhance patient care, improve access to care, spotlight the nationally renowned work of providers and bring greater focus to brain and spine care under the UofL Health brand, UofL Health’s neuroscience & spine programs have united under a new name. Now the UofL Health – Brain & Spine Institute, this new integrated model will further develop and drive the service line towards national best practice standards and even greater recognition.
Under the leadership of the new System Vice President of Neuroscience and Spine, Joshua Beardsley, UofL Health has seen significant growth & collaboration in each of these specialties. The UofL Health – Brain & Spine Institute services are now located across the UofL Health System, with clinic locations and services offered at UofL Health – Jewish Hospital, UofL Health – Abraham Flexner Outpatient Center, UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute, UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, UofL Health – Shelbyville Hospital, UofL Health – Medical Center East, UofL Health – Comprehensive Spine Center at UofL Health – Medical Center Northeast and UofL Trager Institute/Republic Bank Foundation Optimal Aging Clinic with plans to optimize and grow services even more.

The Brain & Spine Institute brings together UofL Physicians practices, community providers, and hospital services, all to offer a multidisciplinary approach to caring for patients. This approach includes clinical and academic research at University of Louisville School of Medicine, multiple other UofL academic departments and health system services.
