UofL Health – Trager Transplant Center has a team of experts ready to support you through every step of your lung transplant journey. Our program is the first and oldest in the commonwealth, performing Kentucky’s first double lung transplant and first heart-lung transplant in 1988. Our program continues to build on this milestone, having performed more than 400 lung transplants since its inception. Reasons for a Lung Transplant

A lung transplant is a lifesaving cure for a variety of advanced lung conditions. The lung transplant program at Trager Transplant Center has given new hope to people of all ages and continues to be a leader in lung transplants. A lung transplant may help those who have:

• Sarcoidosis
• Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficincy
