To alleviate fears and jump-start the journey to beat cancer, Brown Cancer Center offers next-day appointments for newly-diagnosed cancer patients.

Cancer is more beatable than ever, but with days or weeks often between diagnosis and treatment, the wait is among the most stressful time. This new program arms patients and their families with answers right away.

Information is available by calling 502-562-HOPE (4673).

Information is a critical tool in the fight against cancer. Brown Cancer Center's goal is to provide rapid access to our leading cancer specialists. This expertise delivers patients and families important support and reassurance.

Patients will talk with cancer specialists during the next day appointment to begin the process of mapping out a personalized treatment plan. At the appointment, patients will meet with an oncologist that can further explain treatment options, answer questions and recommend next steps.

“Timely information is so important when faced with cancer. In addition, the treatment of cancer has become very complex utilizing multidisciplinary care. Early access to specialists can ease some of the anxiety and ensure that evaluation and treatment plan are done correctly,” Beth Riley, M.D., FACP, medical oncologist and deputy director of health affairs for Brown Cancer Center, said. “Understanding the options and roadmap of cancer treatment before you start can lead to improved, more personalized care and we are excited to be the first in our region to offer such access.”
