To make it easier for our referring providers to find care for cancer patients, we have implemented a dedicated physician-only cancer line to answer any questions referring providers may have about our services and work-ups for cancer diagnosis. Physician-only cancer line
Call 502-377-8540 when a physician needs to speak with an oncology RN navigator about any aspect of our cancer services, including newly diagnosed cancers, or work-ups for diagnoses, etc.
You can also refer a patient by filling out our Outpatient Oncology New Patient Referral Form. Completed forms may be returned via fax to 502-217-5031.

Dr. Theuer discovered what he believed to be a cancerous mass in the patient’s colon. Tammy, the practice manager, called the physician-only cancer line and was immediately in contact with a nurse. Tammy was over the moon at being able to reach an oncology contact with the patient still in Dr. Theuer’s office. The first-time cancer patient left Dr. Theuer’s office knowing he/she would be contacted by oncology to set up an appointment. Before going to bed the same day, the patient had an appointment scheduled and was able to see an oncologist at UofL Health - Medical Center Northeast the VERY NEXT DAY. Tammy was so appreciative that she was able to help the patient immediately.

Call 502-237-4611 for Inpatient oncology consults. To be used when an oncology patient presents in a UofL Health hospital with urgent issues and a consult by a medical oncologist is needed. These services are now available at UofL Hospital and Jewish Hospital. Additional sites within the UofL Health network will be added.
