UofL Health – Frazier Rehab Institute Inpatient Spinal Cord Program aims to restore individuals to optimal levels of physical, cognitive, and emotional recovery following spinal cord injury or disease. The program, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehab Facilities (CARF), also focuses on prevention, awareness and wellness through community partnerships.
The program serves patients of all ages and at all stages of recovery. We treat both traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injury survivors. The ultimate goal across our programs is to restore an individual’s functional independence while re-integrating them into their homes and community in meaningful ways.
In 2023, Frazier Rehab's Spinal Cord Program provided inpatient rehab services to 220 patients, representing approximately 10% of all Frazier Rehab admissions:

- 54 adults ages 18-44
- 72 adults ages 45-64
- 82 adults ages 65 and over
The average length of stay for inpatients with a spinal cord injury is 17.5 days.
