UofL Physicians is the largest, multi-specialty physician practice in the Louisville area, serving Shepherdsville, Shelbyville and beyond. This means The Power of U is in YOUR community. As the clinical practice arm of UofL Health, we offer more than 80 sub-specialties from more than 1,000 primary care and specialty providers, treating patients of all ages.
Many of our physicians are also professors and researchers at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, teaching tomorrow’s physicians, leading research in new innovative medical advancements and bringing progressive, innovative, state-of-the-art health care to every patient.
Our more than 1,000 physicians practice in nine UofL Health Hospitals (including UofL Hospital, Jewish Hospital, Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, Shelbyville Hospital, Peace Hospital and Frazier Rehabilitation Institute), South Hospital our four medical centers (East, Northeast, Southend and Southwest) the Brown Cancer Center, the Eye Institute and nearly 200 practice locations throughout the region.
UofL Health, Inc. is 501(c)(3) a nonprofit corporation is governed by an independent Board of Directors and is a related organization (as defined under 42 CFR 413.17) with the University of Louisville’s School of Medicine. UofL Health, Inc., on behalf of its teaching hospitals and providers, entered into academic affiliation agreement with the University of Louisville in which the University of Louisville agreed that its Health Sciences Center would be the academic partner with UofL Health, Inc. to maintain and enhance the University of Louisville’s affiliated graduate medical education as well as its research in medicine, dentistry, nursing and public health.
